General Setup Instructions

  1. Turn on the equipment you want your Remote Control to operate.
  2. Press the corresponding button on the Remote Control (TV, VCR, Cable, Audio).
  3. Press and hold the SETUP button on the Remote Control until the red light blinks twice; then release.
  4. Enter the four-digit code for your brand of TV. Refer to your TV manual.
  5. Aim Remote at the device and press POWER. Equipment will turn off. If not, repeat steps 2-4 until the power turns off.

The remote control for your digital receiver can be updated to input a new television's make and model number. This also applies for DVD players and other Auxiliary devices (such as stereo receivers and amplifiers).

  1. Make sure the power light on your receiver is lit
  2. Check if the remote light is flashing. If so, replace your batteries
  3. Press the "CBL" button on your remote. Then try to change channels
  4. Try changing the channels on the receiver without using the remote
  5. Make sure the correct codes are programmed for your equipment
  6. Make sure nothing is blocking the front of the receiver
  7. Make sure you are operating the remote control within 20 feet of the receiver
  8. Some Charter remotes require 2 digits to be entered to change channels (ex: 05 to change to channel 5)
  9. Try to auto tune your TV to reset the channels

Some of our remote can be identified by removing the battery cover off the back of the remote. The model number will be listed on the inside of the battery cover.

Place the remote in Cable mode by pressing the CBL button on the right, under the RED power button.

  1. Make sure the power light on your receiver is lit
  2. Check to see if the remote control light is flashing repeatedly. If so, please replace your batteries
  3. Go up to the receiver and try changing the channels without using the remote control
  4. Make sure you have the correct codes programmed for your equipment
  5. Make sure nothing is blocking the front of the receiver
  6. Make sure you are operating the remote control within 20 feet of the receiver

Make sure you are using the correct VCR setup codes for your brand. Some combo remote controls may require both a TV and VCR code for full operation.

  1. Prepare it to work with the make and model of your TV. (For additional information, refer to the guide that is included with your remote control.)
  2. Press the CBL button to place the remote in cable mode
